On March 3 the combined United/Continental MileagePlus programme goes live. This is essentially the ex-Continental OnePass scheme – rebranded as United. Simples!
MileagePlus becomes the single loyalty programme for the new United. A final update will be emailed to members over the coming days and will include important details about account numbers, PINs and passwords, as well as some notes about what to expect for the weekend of March 3, as United completes its systems migration.
If you are currently a member of MileagePlus or OnePass, the email will direct you to log into your personalized page where, based on current programme affiliation (MileagePlus, OnePass® or both), you will receive a combination of messages. Members are strongly encouraged to log into their personalised page to get all the details. Below are a few highlights:
Members of only MileagePlus will be shown their new, eight-character alphanumeric account number for use beginning March 3. This new account number will not be active until March 3 and should not be used until that time.
Members of only OnePass will receive a message confirming that their eight-character account number will become their MileagePlus account number beginning March 3. This account number may be used immediately.
Members of both programs who have linked their accounts will see confirmation that their OnePass account number will replace their current MileagePlus number beginning March 3. The former OnePass eight-character alphanumeric number should be used beginning March 3.
Action Point: If you receive a new membership number – please remember to let our Business Travel Team know so we can update your Traveller Profile.
Any reservations made using an 11 digit account number will continue to receive credit for miles flown after March 3. 11 digit numbers will continue to be accepted for a short period following the introduction of the combined program.
Members who have qualified for 2012 Premier status can expect to receive their 2012 Premier membership kits and cards in the coming weeks.
